Civic Data Community: The CDL connects, supports and activates people involved in Civic Data – creating a community of practice. It collects and shares knowledge and experience and jointly develops new ideas in a lab. Furthermore, it identifies training needs from civil society and forwards these to the Civic Data Academy.
Civic Data Academy: Data literacy is a prerequisite for being able to responsibly handle data from one's own field of work and use it for the common good. The Civic Data Lab supports this by making existing data-related learning and training opportunities for civil society easily accessible. It classifies them according to common criteria. If offers and formats are missing, the CDL will develop them as needed and make them available for free – at all levels, online and face-to-face, synchronous and asynchronous.
The catalogue of recommended and available offers is available on the Civic Data Lab website (in German) and is constantly growing according to the respective user requirements.
Civic Data support and advice: The CDL will implement new relatable, data-driven services for the common good – together with the respective civil society stakeholders who contribute their ideas. Challenges and practical issues can only be overcome through concrete implementations. The Civic Data Lab therefore focuses on addressing questions of interoperability of data applications and standardisation within civil society. The results and lessons learned will be presented transparently to the community and civil society and made available for further use.
